I don't subscribe to the encapsulation of the hybrid naked dies are the cause of failure. The MAF uses exactly the same technology - thick film hybrid with wire bonded, encapsualted IC's and failures of those are almost unheard of.

The main reason for hybrid failure is the lack of static protection, highish impedance inputs and the IC technology.

With the new rebuilds out now, is there any type of static protection or resistance to it? How about higher impedance inputs?

Hi Andy
As I mentioned in a previous thread of yours, my design of tile includes lots of transient supressors, also the IC's used are much better protected. I give a 3 year minmum warranty, but I don't expect my rebuilt units to fail unless totally abused. I haven't had one come back after 3 years, but would probably honour my warranty after that time.

Andy,

Just checking in, sorry that your latest (my) LH died. I guess I'll try it out on
my car when I get it back and see if it's really gone .

I have always wondered if a handful of Zener diodes applied externally to the LH circuits would help save the ECU.

After a busy weekend of dealing with cars I finally have a break from them. The 928 is pretty much just sitting around waiting for it's new transplanted brain and I'm stuck with the fiancee's gutless Jetta for a day of work today and the bus for the rest of the week.

Oh well, Hey Dr Bob I checked my PMs today. Last time I signed on was through my cell phone which gives me really limited usage of the list.

Hey George - no need to be sorry! I feel really bad! When it went out, I thought I did something bad and killed it. I still hope I haven't in some way...

Nah, she's gonna deal with the spiders in her sun visor tomorrow.

I hate the bus, last time I got some 50 year old woman that overloaded on perfume. Smelling that for an hour is an alternative to coffee and sarin gas combined.

Hey guys I'm back up and running again. I got my LH back done by John Speake. Man this car has tons of power now! I am also getting great gas mileage! I drove 26 miles into SF today to work with no problems whatsoever. The gas needle didn't even budge!

I just want to say thanks to everyone who has helped me out on here make this possible. Ya'll are great in my book.

Most of us would be happy if it read full even when it was full, mine is not all the way up to the full line when full, but it will only hold 17 gallons at the stop at the bottom.
