Any tips where to start looking?
As I was leaving Andrew's place this past Sunday; I noticed I could not stop my Seat Belt / head light chime warning. (the seat belt sign in the consol does go out).
So I drove off and turned up the radio, I would look at it later back at my garage.
Here is what I found so far:
All Interior "LED's" and the Clock and Rear Hatch Motor are out (same fuse).
All worked before the Chime started its continious "Beep beep".
A new 5 amp Fuse blows before I can seat it!
I'm a thinking I have a short between the two circuits, but where is a good place to start w/o tearing my interior appart!
Anyone BTDT ?
Thanks,
DaveK9

Yes thanks, that is a typical issue w/the Interior Lights as I see it happen on another car and had to remove the head liner and B pillar cover and make a new harness as the car had the wrong size fuse in the lighting circuit.
I am looking for how this lighting issue could tie into the chime not stopping, where do these circuits come in close contact?
Thanks for the reply !

Well I pulled out the Ashtray/ cig lighter and checked, all looks good, nothing loose on shorted.
As you may know that is where I mounted my Nitrous Control switches (ashtray) they are not connected to the lighting, they have a 5 amp fused (new circuit) into an unused fuse socket and the wires just run to the CE panel staying to the outside of the passenger console.
Could this be in a door hinge area?
Thanks for the reply !
I was wondering if there is a CE panel connection that I could disconnect and use to narrow down which area to look?
As in a connector for the Hatch or Driver sides door etc..

you may have better luck removing the right side console cover and inspecting the wires for the clock and ashtray, lights are both of these
