I have to laugh at this posting. While I appreciate this headsup, this posting just never would have showed up on the 997 forum. Over there, it seems no one does their own wrench turning yet. Thanks for the info. (I find more tool deals on the 993 and 928 forums).

Awesome, thanks, just ordered mine, will pick them up over the weekend.

I've been wanting these for the longest time but haven't pulled the trigger so I'm psyched to get them so cheaply.

And Bill, right on, on the twist rachet, I need one of those too. Maybe I'll pick one up at Sears when I pickup the flex wrenches.

Store price is actually $69.99
I just picked up a set here in San Diego and the sales person had to pull up sears.com to confirm, then get a special overide on the price, seems someone maybe screwed up on the web site pricing, should have been $29.99 OFF the $89.99 price, not $60 off - so go and buy asap before they pull the special price (and probably why the online site is sold out right now, because they realized the mistake)!

Beleive it or not.....back in '97 when I got my first 928, the mentality was the same. Hardly anyone did their own work, especially the S4 -up crowd. They all looked at the DIY owner as a "cheap a$$" looser that shouldn't own a magnificant machine like this. Then look at it today, almost everyone knows at least a little how to turn a wrench. I think this was a change for the better.

Thanks for the tip! Too bad the only store that has them in stock in our area would be a 5 hour round trip.

Got mine, took 45 minutes of "purchase online for local pickup" @ the store to get the price and wait for them to locate them and bring them up to the parts delivery area after I was actually holding them in my hands 45 minutes earlier. They couldn't give me the good price at the counter. Stupid.

LOL, when i started wrenching on my '81 - 928 back in 85/86 when the warranty ran out the local PCA ( I lived in Palo Alto, CA) pretty much disowned me - and its never been to a dealer since!

Brad,

Thanks for the tip on this buy. I was actually at Harbor Freight with my son today looking to buy this same set of wrenches for $29.99. among other things I became distracted at something else and forgot to out it into my basket. I ended up forgetting to buy it. What a wierd coincidence!

I am now trying to buy the Sears version on their website. Unfortunately, I ecnounter the same problem as Glenn. It shows my store location having some sets in stock. but it would not allow me to complete the purchase even as a store pick-up transaction.

I logged out and logged back into the Sears website. I was able to complete the purchase using PayPal. Thanks again Brad!

Sears is so brain dead at the top, makes me sick since I really like many brands etc. that make up Sears. The new Sears.com is fubar from end to end.
