Lightbulb Relocating the Idle Control Valve on 87+ years

I am considering relocating the ICV on my car to an area that is more servicable. Before I proceed to go into details, I just want to ask if anyone has done this in their cars yet? Some supercharged applications here have had to relocate theirs somehwere. I'm curious to know where you guys put yours at?

As for my idea, I am thinking of moving it to the front of the intake, next to the diaphragm dampner up front and giving a massive lead to the connectors on the ISV harness itself.

In order to move the ISV, the hoses will have to be longer connecting from the driver side intake boot (for venturi affect for brake booster vacuum) and where the outlet hose from the ISV connects into the lower area of the throttle body housing. To provide sufficent length to relocate it in the front, I figured I could use a small diameter metal pipe and cut the inlet hose mid-way to clamp it tightly.

Currently I'm still trying to figure out the design of the hose going to the throttle body inlet from the ISV.

If someone has designed a less complex way of relocating it, feel free to chime in while I do some brain crunches.

The twin-screw/eaton superchargers replace the intake manifold and the space between the V is taken up by the intercooler. Since there is no place under there for anything else, the throttle, ISV and MAF are relocated to beside the intake right where one of the stock air tubes would be. It sure is handy being able to mess with those things right away.

You don't need to make any hoses longer if you relocate the throttle and MAF as well. Theoretically an S4 should have enough space on the passenger side of the intake for this, but you will need to re-route the throttle cable.

Statistically, ISV's fail once in a blue moon. Put a new one in the original location withh good hoses, and don't worry about it for another 15-20 years. I sort of figure on putting a new one in next month as part of an intake refresh since the cost is small relative to replacement effort, and with 100k I may be flirting with MTBF possibilities. Andy, do we know anyone else besides yourself who has experienced such a short ISV life?
