Sensors for things that may come as a surprise...is IMHO, an American market item that the industry added to the lux cars and such when they could. And, also not as annoying as mechanical audible sensors. But also easier to ignore....

'Mericans don't "look" at things very much...unlike a yearly MOT inspection, etc...or otherwise overseas.

So a brake pad dummy light..became a "feature"...and something else somewhat fragile to replace, and not in stock anywhere when it breaks.

Only last week I replaced the rotors and pads on my MDX.
I don't need a light to remind me to maintain this life saving system.

When i work on my car (1980 4.5 5-speed), if i take something off, i will clean, check, lubricate, repaint etc. before i refit it.
I just put new rotors and pads on the front and have new wear sensors to fit because the old ones are cooked. The wires on the early cars are about 3 feet long with 2 molded in grommets. i guess that means they go through the skirt and then the firewall. Can anyone explain how they are routed before i spend a weekend under the car following them?
I know i COULD jumper the wires or pop out the warning globe, but I want them connected.

Through the inner fender well and then straight up. Open the hood and you’ll see them, one by the master cylinder and the other across from it.

As someone who doesn't want a little light to tell me brake pads are worn out, I opted to disable my brake pad wear monitor rather than fidget with those dang sensors and connectors. Just jumper connections 19 and 20 (black side) at the CW brain/Central Informer (under the dead pedal). This is for a pre-84 brain - not sure if the 84+ uses the same numbering scheme.
