These sharks dont swim!
Luckily they didn't have to but it was close, very close.
Here are some pics of our front yard yesterday. All three 928s and my Audi S4 were in the garage, the Murano S4 up on the lift. I was helpless in the house on the other side of the "river" praying harder than you can imagine. It seemed like it was never going to stop raining. The water was about 6 inches from coming in our house and about 12 inches deep in the garage. Deep enough to get shark floors wet but I think they're all ok. Fortunately I had the battery disconnected in both 928s on the floor. I got the GT dried out today and drove it with no problems. I hope to finish drying the ROW tomorrow and expect it will be ok too. I have a 3 gallon dehumidifier sitting in the front seat running 3 hour on/off cycles. It worked pretty well in the GT today so I'm letting it run in the ROW tonight. Wish me luck.
First is an old pic of what the front yard is supposed to look like. The normal flow of the creek that runs under the driveway is usually small enough to step over. The second pic is just before it topped the bank. The last is the view from our kitchen window at it's worst.
All in all we were extremely lucky. So many people near us lost their homes or worse. It's a day we'll never forget.

Glad you're safe, Mike. Sounds like the cars will be OK as well.

We live next to Jackson Creek. We have neighbors that have lived here over 40 years that say it has never been this bad since they've been here. Once it stopped raining, the water was back in the bank within an hour. It seemed like forever.

That's amazing Mike, glad things are looking ok. The rain here has been just incredible, beyond a 100-year flood, simply historic. There are places around Atlanta that got over two FEET of rain in just a couple days, on top of basically two weeks of rain every day. The ground was already saturated when the deluge hit. I've never seen anything like it. We have a creek running behind our house and believe me I was watching it like a hawk, trying to find anything that would block the house. Luckily it got within a few inches of the garage but that's it. I took my car to dinner with my wife and daughter tonight, first time it's been out of the garage in more than two weeks. Felt really good. Make sure the fuse panels are dry and take 'em for a run. It's great therapy!

Mike,
Glad all is well. I wondered about that little creek by your house after seeing the damage from that little creek nrxt to Parkview. We were ok in my neighborhood.

I never felt so helpless watching the water rise higher and higher. Given the epic proportions of this event, I guess there is some comfort in knowing that we were able to ride it out. I hope it's at least 100 years before it happens again.

Wow, that is scary! Hope your property weathered the storm and you can get things back to normal quickly. You might consider opening the doors of the two cars that got wet and using fans to move air through them. That should prevent any mold or other unwelcome future smells.
Good luck.
Good luck.
