Default Need a MAF connector - anyone have one or a good source

I am installing the GTS dynamic kick-down system in my 89, and need a spare MAF plug for the 94/95 GTS TPS. I am trying to find a supplier of the connector here in the states. I believe EagleDay has the connectors, but will be over $50 with shipping. Does anyone have a better source for a connector, or a used one from a bad harness... etc?

Thanks
Hans

You can also do a search on Tyco's website and find which distributors have inventory of the part.

Edit: I'm wrong - thanks to John Speake for pointing it out, you need 6-way for the MAF connector not 7. See a couple of posts down
The 7-pin receptacle housing is: (ignore the generic 3-way power timer picture - read the specs )

http://www.tycoelectronics.com/catal...&RQPN=827216-1

They also have the various connector partnumbers in different colours, for those ferrari owners among you.

You can also find the various receptacle terminals that go in the connector on their site.

I recently ordered a bunch of the terminals to repair my crank position sensor (boot and insulation had cracked and there were exposed signal wires). I got them from Farnell's aussie branch, but they actually shipped them from the USA as thats where they had stock. http://www.farnell.com/

929939-3 is the terminals I grabbed to go on the harness side - there's a huge array of different materials, contact plating etc. but I just went for cheap and available.

Just make sure you buy a good quality ratcheting crimp tool (thanks Hacker! that post of yours on the other site prompted me to do so.. well worth the $$).

Oops, my memory thought there was an unused pin position in there (i.e. 7-way connector but only 6 pins). My bad.

The 6-way is in the catalogue too. A couple of distributors have stock.

282236-2 is the 6-way part.

In stock at www.masterdistributors.com and http://www.hawkusa.com/

One thing worth noting is that while buying individual parts (connector, boot, terminals) is doable, if you need a complete single connector, a kit is probably the way to go. I went through the hassle of finding this stuff out as at some point I'll probably need to make a harness.

You are correct that for S4 onwards the pin for the idle mixture pot in the MAF is not wired into the cableform of the car..... so only 5 of the 6 pins are used.

No matter, Roger stocks the 6 way part that Hans requires for his late GTS throttle pot.

Thanks,
Hans
