Hey guys...

I'm actually the owner of the car. It is a true euro car. the vin is WPOZZZ92ZCS840492, and like the ad says, the engine code is M28/11. The speedometer is in KPH not MPH - I made a mistake on the listing, hadn't noticed.

The car definitely needs paint, and it's not that I can't be bothered to take off the whole car cover, I quite frankly just did not have the time to do so. (Gotta work!)

The wheels are the period correct 3 piece BBS, and I also have the factory wheels (no tires, just the wheels).

I do have two interiors for the car. One of them is the original one (seats need to be upholstered yesterday!) and the other is the one I bought to make the interior black. I have a set of black back seats, and the front seats are off a boxster (also need re-upholstering, not as bad as the originals though). The door panels (black one's) are off a car equipped with the HI-FI sound system. And I have a full black carpet for it. (everything was bought used, not new).

As far as the engine is concerned, I have narrowed it down to a fuel issue. I am confident that I would have the car running if it were not for the lack of time.

By the way, BBX, I did not know that those were US spec side marker lights, the car does have the rear fog light though.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Hey 153Bigblock, I would be happy to work out a trade deal wth you on your 944. Let me know if you are serious about it and we could talk.

Have a good one guys!
Ralph

Vin is WP0ZZZ92ZCS840492 I think, O isn't used, just 0.

The trick with a CIS (non electronic fuel injection) after they sit with old gas is pretty much to replace the injection system or rebuild it. Start by flushing the fuel tank, replacing the filter and cleaning out the lines, new hoses, WUR and fuel distributor, then test and replace the regulators and dampners as needed. A good weekend and a good credit card should have it running if the motor is ok.

You have time to post but not work on the car????? drain the fuel tank, replace the fuel pump...it has prob seized and add 5 gallons of gas and some injector cleaner. Make sure the injectors don't sick open and lock your motor. I wouldn't throw a ton of cash into the cis till you get the car running.

Just my 2 cents

****. I do. It's cheaper, easier and I haven't drawn blood yet, either.

Regarding Smudaaar's posting comment, exactly what Glen said. Why is it that whenever I get anywhere near a car with an open hood, I bleed?!?

But seriously, Here's a list of what I have done

1. Drained gas tank.
2. New fuel filter.
3. New fuel pump.
4. Blew out all the lines to make sure that they were not clogged up (yes, even the return line).
5. Put 5 gallons of fresh gas with some injector cleaner.
6. Put all new plugs.
7. Put a new (rebuilt) fuel distributor.
8. Checked the spray patterns on all the injectors (all are fine).
9. Checked the timing. All marks line up at TDC and the rotor points to point number 1.
10. Checked spark.
11. And only God can remember whatever else I have done.

The last time I worked on it, it started and then shut right off. I checked and realized that I was running way too lean. I went ahead and started adjusting the A/F mixture and (I swear there must have been a really good looking woman walking down the sidewalk at that point), I turned it so far over that I screwed it right off! Anyways, I took everything out. EVERYTHING! and put it back together just the other day. I still need a couple of lines to connect and have not had the time to do so since.

BTW... I got it to turn on only after disconnecting the plug from the temperature sensor (I think that what this part is called could be wrong, but it's the one that goes to the cold start injector) to the cold start injector. Might be that that part is sending a constant signal to the cold stat injector, because when it's connected it never starts due to too much fuel, which by the way I forgot to mention was the problem in the beginning. The car used to get flooded, big time. I used to have to take out all the plugs to let the fuel evaporate!

Danglerb, you may be right about the VIN being an 0 instead of O. Sometimes it's hard to tell.

I have been able to figure some stuff out on my own and some other stuff from another forum I visited. As a matter of fact one of you guys even helped me out on that other forum. Won't say who in case it's a bad thing to go from forum to forum. Don't really know since I have only been on two forums. Ever.

Thanks!
Ralph
