Thanks Dave, these look awesome.

Unfortunately Jegs are not available in Australia, and they only ship via UPS - they want to charge me $70 shipping for $30 worth of clamps (4 clamps).

I'll start looking for local equivalents.

If you go bust, I'll be glad to post down some as $5 auto parts...

I like the preformed clamps - they are made by Walker IIRC.
What size do we need to save me going out in the cold with a caliper?
Cat to Cat back.
X to Cat Back
X to cat.

I used a Walker 33231 which is a Stainless 2.25 lap joint clamp. I don't have a cat, so it's only from the OTT x-pipe to the catback. I think it was like $8.50 a piece. It seals just fine without any stuffing in there. I actually mentioned that back on page 1.

Yup. They are nifty. Much easier to get a tight seal than the sheet-style clamps.

It depends upon exactly which components are being mixed, which x-pipe and with and w/o cats. IIRC the relevant sizes are 2 3/4", 2 1/2 and ... maybe 2 1/4".

rob, if you installed this set up, would you recommend it? benefits?
(the large band clamp is NLA, and the balance of parts is now $110.)

The setup is for the 2.25" dual exhausts from 86.5-95. I never installed it because I have dual 2.5's on the GTS. I'm not sure whether it's really necessary with the small resonators, but the large resonator stock exhaust system weighs more than 100 lbs. If I had that I'd probably install it. Porsche seemed to think it was necessary.

^^^^^thanks for saving me some money!

"Porsche seemed to think it was necessary." but apparently not on GTs?
