Yes, he used a section of transparent aluminum on the side there.

Don't be silly!

If you need a higher pressure tank after adding boost, something is wrong with the coolant system or the engine.

If you need a new tank anyway (many 928's do) this is a good unit over the OEM.

I need a new tank anyway, mine is 20 years old and the added heat from a supercharger under the hood is not going to help old brittle plastic that is under pressure when running.

What I'm sayin' is I don't really need no stinkin' reason but it sounded good . . . .

Both or LHD and our RHD aluminum tanks have the bung for the stock water level sensor.

We also offer a version with no water level sensor for racers.

So question, I am needing mine replaced since I have a crack on mine, my concern is although it is aluminum would it create rust over years?? Or not??

No rust. The aluminum is the same metal (for practical porpoises... ) that the radiator and the engine block are made from, so no issues with coolant or other chemical compatibility.

The aluminum coolant reservoir is completely compatible with the system. Remember the engine and the core of the radiator is aluminum too.

Just received this piece from Carl. Looks even better in person. Curious about the cap; has anyone tried using a 20 psi cap?

This and Carl's aluminum radiator will be installed next Sunday, after I get back from a much needed vacation. This seems just as exciting, though! Anxious to try them out.

Isn't stock pressure around 15 psi?
Are you hankering to constant-load/pressure test your rad tanks, heater valve and head gaskets?

Mike,
are you still running the AC condenser? Is your aux fan still hooked up? I can't imagine with a new radiator that you'd need the extra psi, but whaat do I know. What does the pressure increase equate to in temp increase btw? Lasty, you should defer to Carl re increasing the pressure on the system as it seems to me that the beside the hoses, which are cheap to replace, the weak link in the system would be the new radiator.

Price of the plastic Behr version for LHD went up to $150 so these are excellent value for money.
The RHD version is also excellent value because the Porsche alternative is $400 +.
If you do not need the stock look for concours then this is the way to go.

I would however stick with the stock cap which is about 14psi.
