Nevada along with MANY other states treat a salvage title like any other title, they will also simply send you a clean one back. Nevada is ONLY conserned with salvage title cats that are purchased from Auctions. these cars must undergo a certificate of road worthyness by certain mechanics licensed to do so.
Being as California is NOT one of these places and other states are not, it seems you may need to get this running and drive it or sell for parts or a parts car....

I don't see the salvage title making any difference, as long as the frame has no damage, all this car needs to do is be street legal, and its currently registered. The idea is a track / fun car right?
Sell it if you are sure thats the way you need to go, but I can't see this not getting started once a few of us can mess with it a bit.

I'm interested for several reasons; fisrt and foremost would be to get the car running.

Malcolm,
The salvage title with NOT affect the importation of the car.
So long as it is able to pass a provincial safety inspection you are clear to bring it across.
Make sure that you properly export it from the US though.

Here in Ontario, you can no longer title an out of province vehicle with an existing salvage title even with an inspection.
Up here, it also has to be inspected by the Ministry of Transposrtation (proof of where the repair parts came from is also necesarry) before a rebuilt "salvage" title can be issued, then it has to go throught the same thing as any other used car to get it back on the road. I'm not 100% sure if a salvage titled car can or can not be imported into Canada.

I think requirements vary from state to state, with some states requiring a pretty thorough inspection of repairs before they allow it to be re-registered.
Just before I purchased Sharky, I decided to sell my daily driver Honda CRX Si. These cars have a certain following here in SoCal, and unmolested good examples are really rare, so I was hoping to sell it for maybe $4K. Then somebody clipped the front bumper cover and ripped it half off the car. Insurance totalled it because of the estimate to fix it. They wanted to give me $2K for the car. I convinced them to give me $3k, sell the car back to me for $250. I had estimates from local body shops to fix it for about $500, but I decided to go "all Porsche" for my "fleet" and sold it in about two hours for $2,500. I could have fixed it and re-titled it, but decided to just move onward and upward.

I think it depends on the car, of course. I have a friend who has massive automotive skills and he buys a lot of salvaged cars and rebuilds them. Mostly late-model, high-end cars. He really fixes them well so that they can go on the market as "bargains" and they always sell. He's even done this with a 911 TT and a GT3. Both cars looked fantastic, aligned to factory specs and he sold them for about 30% off the market value.
