I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing the starlings haven't been blogging about the incident, and aren't arguing the relative merits of interspecies death. The starlings that died died. After intensive therapy and an appearance on Larry King, the starlings that survived have gotten on with their lives and haven't given the incident a second thought.

Saw a Corvette once that had a PA plate on it that read: I8A 4RE. Pretty clever.
I once tried to get the attention of two lovely women I was riding alongside down Hamilton Blvd. in Allentown. It was a hot summer night and all windows were open but they wouldn't even glance over despite my best attempts. When traffic narrowed and I had to duck behind their car, I had to laugh when I saw that the plate read: RUA LEZ. Men in their life delete, I guess.
