Default Ignition switch?

Ok did searches on this and did not find anything except the wires on the back.

So here goes.

How does this switch come off... and or how is it installed? Has anyone ever taken pictures of this area and shown how to do this? (ignition switch 1987 928S4)

Also can they be rebuilt. I have a backround in switch design and have repaired or rebuilt many switches in these cars. Can this switch be torn down or it is not made to come apart.

Last question. My switch has some strange issues. I can slightly move the key in "run position" and get the P (parking indicator) to light and shut off. Also with slight push and pull on the key I can do the same.

Thinking the switch might either be loose or worn out. Others have told me that the screws might be loose. What does this mean. (other than screws loose in my head).

Any help would be appreciated.

remove the plastic cover under the steering wheel held on with two small screws. you will see the ignition switch, it is round. you have to pull the clip back to pull the plug off.

Interesting. I pulled the connector off the switch (light dawned over marble head) and then I could actually see the switch. Hmm. So anyway... I pushed the connector on and off a couple times to seat it and skuff the contacts a bit. Now the P on the shift indicator is nice and bright and no more flicker. So I guess it was just the connection and not the switch.

On to the next guess as to why the car shuts down after a little bit of running. Now am up to about 1/2 hour of running before it shuts down and will not restart for hours.
