Ya know, I'd look but my car is at Rogers, ignition switch gave out and I've had no time to work on it. I'm sure its a simple reason. Can tell ya more tomorrow but I think the bodies all had those stickers.

The ZZZ is in a position in the VIN that is only relevant to US cars.
ALL Porsche vehicles carry two VINs - one has the ZZZ and is allocated at the time the body is manufactured, the other is the actual number used by US authorities and is allocated AFTER the body is used on the production line to build a car.
The fact that a US car has BOTH caused me issues when I licensed my LHD '88 - of course I filled in the correct (US-style) VIN on the papers, and the examiner found the one with ZZZ when he checked the vehicle. The assumption on their part was that we were talking about two different cars.

this is only true for MY 81 and newer, prior to that they were 10 digit vins and both were identical
