Default Chassis number location

I need to replace the master cylinder on my 86.5 auto. I’ve noticed that there are two possibilities depending on the chassis number. One for …0999 and lower, and another for …1000 and above.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the chassis number?

Is there anything in the VIN that will help?

Is there any other way to determine which cylinder I need?

Thanks in advance,

Depami

chassis vin is stamped into Rt front fender well, can be seen from engine compartment (though backwards)... you should be in the 1000 or above category if your car is truly an 86.5 (vin last 4 digits 1000 or higher)

happy to help, in the future you can always refer to the later parts when it offers the option
