Anyone run a 928 at the Texas Mile?

Whenever the S4 set the speed record for a stock car, it was a 171 mph standing mile, which was the top speed, and only picked up 1 mph over its own record for the standing kilometer, so if your car is sorted and straight, you should be able to get to whatever your theoretical max is.

You don't fail tech and have everything waived the next day.
The story is evolving, first it was several modifications and two days to pass tech, and now they waived everything......
Have a nice day

They said it set two records, 170 in the standing km and 171 in the standing mile.

easy misunderstanding - sometimes people refer to "timed mile" - meaning timing at the mile markers (mile1,mile2,mile3), easily confused with standing mile.
Standing mile event on the salt would be a nightmare. There is not enough traction and would prove extremely difficult to get any car over 150

May have been what they said, but they said it WRONG! It was flying mile... I have the video of it. They had like 2+ miles to get up to speed and then flew the Km and mile for a time then had at least another mile to slow down...must have been 2 more miles actually (for a 5 mile total course) because they then TURN AROUND and do it again in the other direction to eliminate the wind effect...if there was any...

The record was one in the Flying Mile and the other was for the Flying Kilometer. The speed was 171.172 IIRC.

Here's the winner in Texas. He tried bumping up the boost and tossed a rod.
