Part of the challenge of offering 928 models is that many, if not most buyers want a model that exactly matches their car. The trouble is, there were so many variations of the 928 that it's impossible to offer that range in the models. So, the manufacturers pick a few and run with it. The resellers keep hearing over and over: "If it would match my car, then...". The result: The quantities sold are rather low, and manufacturers are less inclined to make more variations. After all, they don't sell many of the ones they have... You can't seem to win with models.

There are places that will custom build a car to match your own... as long as a diecast already exists for your model/body style. I would entertain doing that for a fee...
Hot Wheels fell way short by only offering an OB... but then painting them in some of the stupidest color schemes and patterns, they couldn't give them away.
The only post '87 cars I have seen are the GT and Koenig plastic model kits in 1:24, and the S4 and S4Koenig in diecast 1:24 size.
The only 1:18 928s I have seen are all OBs... the 2 AutoArt being talked about here (White or Minerva Blue) and the whale-tail Martini race car (I have one of these).
Also, I have seen some R/C cars that appear to be anywhere from 1:16-1:20 in size, but they too are all OBs.
It seems there is a HUGE exploitable gap in 928 offerings that any forward thinking diecast company would be more than willing to fill... go sign up on the petition page on 928Registry.org -maybe we can get some made!

For me a color matching model would have made me buy one. The models Nicole has are very nice. It was just a color thing.

Just take it apart and repaint it yourself... or send the model and detailed pics of your car and some money to a person that does this for a living... and get back a miniature version of your car.
