Default Warning Lights

Good Morning fellow 928'ers !

Driving to work this morning and ALL of my warning lights went off on my 84 928S !! Either this is a really scary thing or is it a a matter of something loose ? I have posted on here before, and I want to thank everyone who has responded in the past !!

OK, I left the office and my dashboard looked like a pinball machine, the warning lights were flashing on and off, I would step on the gas and they would turn off, I would let off the gas and they would come back on. I would hit a bump in the road and they would turn off and then I would hit another bump and they would turn back on. I am assuming something is loose ? Does anyone have any idea where I should start looking ????

Sounds like it is cycling through the same process that is suppose to happen when you turn the key on (all lights come on) and then you start the engine (all the lights go off). Most likely a loose connection but I really do not have a clue where to tell you to start looking.

If you wiggle the key does the problem appear or disappear? If so your ignition switch could be on the way out.

Check the cable coming off of the alternator. When this is loose, the battery won't charge properly and the lights can sometimes come on all at once (flashing is the normal condition for a broken connection to the alternator). Intermittent connection sounds like it. Good luck

it sounds like the alternator brush has worn down, check all the battery connections and the hot post connection first then drop the alternator and remove the brush holder fitted to the rear of the alternator.(Remove the rear first)
