Default Option code question

How can I find out what my options had been, if I my " option badge " is missing. Can this be accomplished using the VIN alone?

I haven't tried it yet (same issue as you), but some recent searching showed me that with early cars at least, you can call 1-800-Porsche for that info.

depends on the MY... up thru 81 you'll need to get a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche as their dealer system doesn't recognize the early vins... 81ish and up there should be a sticker in the hatch under the mat which has the option codes... if it is gone (many are LONG ago). you can get the info from the dealer by being nice to their parts/service guys and asking politely (most will provide the info with no hassles if you provide proof of ownership)

I guess I read it wrong. Sorry for the mis-info.

Look in your manuals if you have them - a copy gets put in there, too.

you can call Porsche to get the options at the # you listed if it's 82 and up, though I've heard of mixed results/incomplete results
I'm hoping to be up and running soon to be able to pull all the codes for 82-95 soon from my personal computer (keep your fingers crossed)
