Hi Marc,
It is a great running motor. Thanks for taking the time to do a great build.
In addition to the good power, I drove it 4464 miles round trip and no measurable oil use. I've got 18k miles on it now. Not to grumble on the dyno results, but I forgot to pump up the rear tires to 35 psi. I normally run about 25 psi on a trip for better ride comfort and even wear. That would've gained another 10 to better the elusive 600 mark. The tires were hot when I finished the runs.

Yeah, I'm surprised you allowed yourself to be seen in public after that dismal performance. For shame.

Seriously, that's one hell of a wonderful beast you've put together there, Louie. And thanks for sharing some of your knowledge (like the SharkTuner session you and Jim did at the OCIC) along the way. What an inspiration!

Hi Ed,
Yeah, I know it seems obsessive. However, I am.

Hi Louie,

It was great seeing you again and meeting Chris!

Words can't explain what I think about your beast!! It was amazing to finally see the legend up close and to watch it on the dyno.

Hi Darien,
Thanks. It was good visiting with you again too. Your car and SC installation is tops. I'm glad everything worked out so well on your exhaust design and fabrication.

Well, finally got the time to put the hammer on my car to see what is wrong with it.

1. Closed Loop Sensor-Lean Not present
2. WOT switch inop--guess I should have replaced it when I had the intake off....it worked then.

Here's one I've wondered about, ACS Switch Open???? What's this?

Posted the last of my dyno videos. It has all but one of the result sets composited in. Apologies for the poor quality and marginal transition work. My best video gear is out of commission at the moment... so I had to use an old copy of Adobe Premier on Windoze. [the original video was 980MB uncompressed].

Don Carter's video is excellent. If you didn't make it to the OCIC(Shame on you) you need to watch his video.

Thanks Louie....

You know that I know that on "any given sunday..." you have 600 rwhp!!!

That engine will live long...god knows it has already live hard!! Probably has more dyno hours on it than anything I ever built!!!

Well done!!

Hey, is there a site where the dynos are posted? What did Sterlings put out?

Any other surprises?

Best,

Marc

Marc,
Sterling didn't put his car on the dyno. It isn't yet in a state of tune to do that. I don't think there is a specific dyno site with results but there is a video of most of the dyno pulls here.

There were no other stroker motors that were on the dyno.
Some were SC cars and I think Darien Nunn (twin screw 86.5 auto) had the best of those at 475 rwhp which is great.

Overall 17.4mpg, Brian. I used nearly 2 qts of alcohol so it spent about 4 minutes at WOT. About 20 seconds of that was on the dyno. It wasn't exactly a fuel economy run. The car turned over 100k miles about 30 miles from home. There is 18k on the motor.

I didn't even think about Sterling's car. It would have been cool to see what it's putting out.

Yes, I'd like to see what his torque curve looks like with the larger headers. He'll get there one day and I bet it does good.
