That's sort of like saying swastikas orignated and are used in Indian culture (India and Native American). A true statement but not normally associated with current western association of the symbol....

I do like your thinking though Porken

Actually they also appear frequently in period native american art too... (not anymore though...)

Here's a good one

And the happy shark is always nice.

This one isn't bad... if you actually want a shark emblem on your car.

That may be true, that doesn't mean some creationists don't think anti-God when they see the Darwin fish.
So my point was he may be giving off a message of being anti-Christian with the shark. Not that I care, just an observation

This would be a much nicer world if people actually studied these different religions and discovered just how alike they are.

Oh never mind, this isn't OT

Interesting points Erik. Dan, the point of *taking* an emblem usually associated with a particular social view (Christianity, in this case) and altering it to stand for something totally different, especially something which at the extremes *appears to* contradict the original view .... that is nothing more than blatant obstructionism.

Taking the Porsche Crest for instance and replacing the word PORSCHE with BEETLE ...get the picture?

Good point Heinrich. Usurp and or supplant might be better descriptors than obstructionism, though that works too. It is interesting how symbols and their identifications often change through the years/decades/centuries/millenium.
