Default Back in a 928 after a decade without one

Hi All, I just got my 928 last week and am loving it. I took off from my own sports car decade about a decade ago. Back then I had the pleasure of having owned four Porsches. Two 911's (85 and 91) and two 928S4's
(both 87's). I have had a bunch of toys from those Porsche's to an NSX and BMW 840 as well as two Vettes, a 500sl and even a 540 Sport -as I transitioned to a family man. Of all, the 928 was always my absolute favorite. So the time came to get a new toy and the 928 was the winning choice.

I just found this fourm and am plannig to be quite active with my new baby. The PO did alot of the mods I would like done, so now I just have some tinkering to do. Heres some pictures - this time I went "historic" with a '79. It has some goodies though. Lowered, headers and full stainless steel system plus Borla, S4 brakes, H4's, alluminum radiator, gts mirrors, 930 wheel, short shifter, full leather, A rare and (I think) cool 70's petrol blue with cork interior. Updated 17 inch three piece wheels and full books and records with original window sticker too. Whole engine out 2k miles ago with new seals. Rebuilt trans. Interior is in fantastic condition. Just need the seat bottoms restored - the leather is good - just needs new foam, etc. I plan to have Paul Champaign do the work. Plus I am eyeing the alacantra headliner and A pillers he offers too.

Please allow me the pleasure of showing off my new shark.

That's the first time I've actually seen the pretty amber windows.

Beautiful! Love the color and the wheels.
How'd you survive so long without one?

Sweet928, that is a SWEET 928! Very well done and welcome back to the fold!

I got in to 928's 13 years ago and you can see they have multiplied in my garage like rabbits! LOL! I LOVE THEM and can't imagine NOT having at least ONE 928!

PS... I noticed a lot of GREEN stuff in the back ground of your pictures... What IS THAT?! It has been over 100 deg here in Austin for more than 41 days so far this year and let me tell you EVERYTHING is brown! If your lawn is green, then your water bill is well into the $300/month range! SUCK! Mine is VERY BROWN and CRISPY!

We have been getting a TON of rain. Sprinklers are off. We are actually getting mud in the back yard.

I had to stop to focus on the family for a bit and no room to keep one. Then my mother in law made me an offer to store it in her garage -just two miles away. That was all the motivation I needed! A week later I was in this bad boy. I really always thought one day the next toy would be a GTS, but this one just seemed to find me and she was local. I just had a feeling and fell in love at first sight. I never even considered going this old until I saw her. The mods the PO did changed everything for me. It's a little hot rod and totally tight. Maybe I paid a little high, but the way I look at it, it is the most amazing bang for the buck on earth! What joy this brings. You can't put a price on that. Plus I love the rarity factor, by year, condition and color.

I'm hoping to have one in 10 years too! LOL Okay sooner than 10 years...it just seems like it's gonna take that long! (Three little ones!)

Very nice - one of the nicest OBs I've ever seen (based on the pics so far).

Is that after-market window tinting?

No window tint. I think/thought that was just the cork interior - making the glass look amber? Maybe the glass is amber - I will have to go study that in the daylight and let you guys know.

By the way, since I am new to the early model, what does OB mean? I am not familiar with the term.

Total hotness! Looks great.

Welcome in, and how about some interior pics, please!

I can imagine that tint gives the whole world a nice, sun-basked, happy feel!
