Default need distributor for '82 Euro

I am unable to resolve a timing problem on my '82 Euro.
Could someone lend me a distributor, so I can swap and eliminate that as the cause?

The car will not advance enough during the RPM curve... I am suspecting the centrifugal advance to be inop.
How much are those things anyway?

They can be disassembled and the springs/weights changed to modify the curve.

Thanks Colin,
I had someone supposedly rebuild it with no change to problem.
I would like to find a good one to compare and then decide if I will buy one or attempt the rebuild myself.

Is the effect of the centrifugal change big?

It's stamped on the case just below the cap.

I would find a hotrod shop, and show them the curve you want.

They should be able to put any type of an advance curve on it you want.

Right now I would be happy if it does what it is supposed to. Something is not working and I can't figure out why...

Do you have the vacuum hooked up to the correct port on the throttle body?

Have you checked the timing with a timing light?

Verified the vacuum operation with a MityVac?

yes, checked all and it all seems fine. But when setting the timing as per workshop manual at 3k RPM, timing is way too retarded at 5500 RPM and therefore car has no power....

If the engine isn't pinging, move the timing up.
I run 33 degrees advance @ 3000RPM (vac disconnected) you should see around 8 degrees advance at idle at this stage. Plug the vac retard line in and away you go.
I personally think the vac retard line holds the engines 'get up and go' back a little but it doesn't ping now. If you run no vac set the timing to 30 degrees (factory is 28 for my engine).
If you have mechanical problems with the dizzy then that's different, you'll have to get that fixed.
