Default Rub strip install tape ?

Ready to install my rub strips, the tape I have seems; due to width indicated it should be place it in the center of strip. One post mentioned it should have two strips of tape from the edge to edge. Can I use just the center, if not tape would need to be cut to place it close to the edge. Any feedback, I do not remember what the tape looked like when I removed it.

IIRC there is a small raised area that runs down the center of the strip, the tape should be placed on either side of this ridge,.
From your picture it looks like you dont have this little ridge. Also you have to measure the thickness of the tape if its not thick enough then it wont adhere to the panel.
You may have to buy the Porsche tape as its thicker than most tapes

Tape is 1/32, do I need to go find the correct tape? Seems like this is what was recommended for theses strips. Do you have a picture of the center portion you referred to. When I placed the tape on the edges the strip and panel showed the tape and did not lay flat. With it in the center it sat down correctly, I'm a little confused!

all the rub strips I have removed have had a single strip of tape down the center of the rubstrip as is shown in your picture.

Tape in the center so the edges of the rub strip are flush to the paint.

OK the tape must be thicker than the edges of the strip or it wont adhere properly and will soon fall off, its easy to see if the tape will sit proud of the mounting area just place some on the molding and look to see how much higher the tape surface is, if its low or flush then you should source some other tape.
