rubber plug connector under the passenger side fuse box?
Just cleaned out my leaves trapped above my airbox in my (1982) that was causing water to collect above airbox and then leak thru the old rubbber gasket sealant around the airbox and into my floorboard. Pain in the butt job just to get some leaves out. Question is while removing the fusebox (so I could drop the airbox thru the passenger footwell) I noticed a single black wire connected to a what appeared to be black rubber plug with a single green wire (that is shielded with another green wire inside of it) coming out of the otherside. The single green wire side is not rubber but somekind of yellowed plastic plug. It had partially broken. The boot plug (looks like a small sparkplug boot) has the numbers 477971252 raised letters on the side of it. Any one have any ideas what this is? I looked over the parts manual and I don't see anything like this.

Harness with the Green Shielded wire No longer Available
Pelican Parts tells me that this Oxygen Connector dead ends into the distibutor cap. Once cut you have to replace the wire all the way back to the distributor cap. The connector is no longer available. Anybody have any ideas on where I can find one?

O.K. first off I have never heard of a O2 sensor going to the dist cap-brain yes,cap NO! ED the green wire comes off the dist and goes to the ECU on the passenger side fender well. As far as replacment part goes, please post a pic and I am shure that someone will lead you in th right direction.

Yes I was mistaken. After running back origination points turns out this was the O2 sensor for the exhaust. I went ahead and replaced it with an off the shelf Radio Shack connector. I took special care to strip away the copper around the sheilded green wire so as not to make contact with the opposing connection. Works like a charm. No issues.
