Hi Everyone,
I have been looking around for a set of cup wheels for my 1988 928 S4. Googling around I found these wheels:
Model No.
ALY67210U10 - 17" X 7.5" Cup 1 Wheel - Manf. Keystone ($144 to $250)
ALY67211U10 - 17" X 8" Cup 1 Wheel - Manf. Keystone ($219 - $224)
ALY67212U10 - 17" X 9" Cup 1 Wheel - Manf. Keystone ($219 - $224)
Prices vary from wheel web site to site, but range from $144 to $250 per wheel, depending on size. I am not sure if they are aftermarket or OEM or remanufactured wheels.
Has anyone bought and used these wheels from Keystone. It would be great to have more information on them, IE offset, performance, problems, etc.
It looks like a good deal for a set of Cup Wheels at ~$740 for a set of 4.
If you Google the model number, wheel shops all over the internet are selling them.
Thanks in advance for your advise.
Very Truly Yours,
Joe Taylor

Cup I's are:
7.5x17 ET65
8x17 ET52
9x17 ET55
and Cup II's are:
7.5x17 ET65
8x17 ET65
9x17 ET65
according to this site:
http://www.wheelx.com/porsche-928-parts.html
If 8x17 Cup II is really 65 its almost ideal for 928's front end. Even Cup I's 52mm works. Only problem is that 8x17 ET65 OEM wheels should not exist at all. Maybe these are in reality new replicas but Cup II ET numbers are still strange.

You can try craigslist or on here and might find them even cheaper. I have the Cup II on my S4 and they fit perfect and look great. I would eventually like to get different ones, but for now I like the look and style.

Hi Erkka,
They say on the WheelX.com site that the wheels are, "Original equipment wheels that are reconditioned to look like brand new wheels.". So they must not be replicas or aftermarket wheels, but are Porsche OE wheels that have been refurbished.
After a little more digging around on the internet, from the Keystone Automotive Industries site, http://www.keystone-auto.com/ , they say:
++++++++++++++
Keystone Alloy Wheels are original equipment parts that are remanufactured by our highly trained and experienced technicians. Each and every product is thoroughly inspected and quality certified for the life of the vehicle – guaranteed! Keystone pioneered and refined the painstaking remanufacturing process for wheels and wheel covers and is proud to offer the collision repair industry remanufactured wheels and wheel covers that are functionally equivalent equipment in every aspect of performance and appearance.
++++++++++++++
Hi Scott,
Are your wheels from Keystone as well? Are they OE wheels, refurbished as well? They look great.
Thanks,
Joe Taylor

Hi Scott,
What size wheels and tires are on your car? Front and back?
Do you have any interference problems? Are running 17" tires, vs. 16" stock tire any rougher ride or is it all about the same?
Mine is an '88 S4 as well, so it would be good to know.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi BB,
According to the company's web site these are refurbished OE wheels, so I would guess the country of origin is Germany. But, you are right, it would be good to check with the seller.
Thanks,
Joe

Problem is that 8x17 ET65 Cup II wheels don't exist. Closest are 8x17 ET52 and 8x17 ET70 versions but both are so rare its unlike anyone could have so many of them that it would be worth advertising them in multible sites. Same can be said for all six variations. How many sets of OEM wheels there can be that needed refub. Not likely enough compared to how many places show them to be available.

Hi Erkka,
I am looking for Cup I wheels, not the Cup II wheels. Wouldn' really know.
I did check the 928registry.org and the wheels/tires on stock 1988 and 1993 928's are:
1988: Wheels were 7x16 front and 8x16 rear flat disc with an offset of 65mm(front) and 52.3mm(rear) with 225/50 16(front) and 245/45 16(rear) tires
1993: Wheels were 7.5x17 front and 9x17 rear 17" "C2 Turbo" style wheels with an offset of 65mm(front) and 55mm(rear) with 225/45 17(front) and 255/40 17(rear) tires
Thanks,
Joe

I will get all that info for you this evening when I get home from work. But currently I do not have any problems at all with rubbing or anything of that nature. I have thought about raising the rear up just alittle to level it out but not cuz of rubbing.

Hi Joe , I was going to mention that the wheel shown in the photo looks very much like an old Mille Miglia replica cup 1 wheel for two reasons
A) sharp edge on the rim lip (factory cup's are more round )
B) there does not appear to be any raised (cast) numbers on either side of the tyre valve hole ,where as the factory cup's have the offset & width numbers there
On that last point ,if they are old Mille Miglia wheels , then the front offsets will probably be 52mm and not the factory 65mm to make the steering feel perfect .
Regards .BB.
