What changed with the rear suspension on the S4?
There were many changes to the front, I was wondering the rear changed as well.

Nothing really except lower arm front mounting point in body, rear springs where changed in early eighties and rear rollbar was changed early on, that it. Up to '86 MY front mounting point was welded part of the body and after that cast aluminum bolted with three bolts.
Rear subframe was changed in manual gearbox cars in '80 MY but it was due to gearbox change. Suspension mounting points remained same. Automatic subframe was changed only to add twin exhaust mounting points.
