Hello,
This is an automated response.

David, just in case there is an .exe file (automatic execute of virus or info download link) embedded in the link -please remove it from your post.
Hopefully Dan was just kidding about being locked up for hours and hasn't had his ID compromised.

Crap like this is such a pain. All I know is my wife/s Mac has yet to be hassled by any such virus or succesful attempts of malware downloads. I don't care for Macs, prefer WIntel as that is what my clients all use as well. But when you factor in what it costs for that monthly antivirus software update that is not necessary on a Mac the price delta I often reference as a reason to go PC is not so much.

Dan... sorry to hear that happening man.
As I said in an earlier post, when I clicked on the link -it just went to the eBay home page. It showed my last viewed auctions, had my user name... everything normal. I didn't click on anything there though. I closed the window.
After hearing some commentary on the other posts, I did a full delete of internet cookies, temp files, sites, etc. then performed a full spyware scan and a full McAfee scan before calling it a night. It came up clean.
However (not sure if I need to be concerned), today I was going to type in the RL address -it was still in the 'memory' of sites visited... along with about 25 others (they could be in my IP's memory). I then went to eBay and my 'Watch' list wasn't in strict 'time remaining' order -it listed the auctions first, then the Buy-It-Nows from the eStores. When I hit 'Refresh' -everything on the 'Watch' list went back in order.
Should I have any concern in this?

Can someone click on their "Delete Cookies" button and tell me if the hourglass spins after confirming the selection?
Thanks,
Dan

I'm not an IT person, but my observation on several computers is that "time" is going to vary according to the machine and how many files are in it. The new Dell Optiplex 960 that I observe most, doesn't hesitate at all. It takes longer to erase the history.

On the Control Panel, I clicked 'Internet Options' and clicked on the Delete button on Browsing History. It gave me a separate window with 5 single options to delete: Temporary Internet Files; Cookies; History; Form Data; Passwords.
I clicked Delete on each one in succession and then clicked Delete All as the final step.
I did it all at once: clicked on each single option and then clicked on 'Delete All'. I got several windows with the 'floating file to destruction' symbol and each sub window closed on their own.
Perhaps I should have waited for the window to close before clicking on the next one...?

I had a McAfee alert window pop up about an hour ago, stating it had just removed a Trojan program...

All clean here after a lot of work.... "you are now free to roam around the forum".
Painful, just painful.
