Is there not a difference in the metal that the tail lights bolt to?

The pockets in the rear body panel behind the taillites have to be moved inboard (as in deeper) & the sheetmetal above them has to be sectioned out of the way (read that removed).

I mean I do not know, but it stands to reason if you have one, you would have to on another.

It just looks like it would be a lot more work on a OB.

Hans, I tried contacting that same company about those a few years back, I never could get a hold of them. Those parts look very good too.

This just happens to be my first 928.
I did not judge your abilities at all. With only 60 posts there was no way to know whether you may have seen other options or not. It's that simple. I meant no foul by my comment nor that you had lack of 928 or auto knowledge. You yourself admit you don't have as much time in front of the computer as others. That same lack of time might lead to a lack of exposure to alternate methods of achieving your goal. I think you read way too much into my post, especially since it was directed at Fabio's comment not your abilities.

I can't tell you the number of times someone has posted looking for a solution only to have a better solution offered by another point of view. If we only answered strictly on the information given, or lack there of, not much helping would be going on, and several folks would be denied better, or at least alternate options.

Note to self: Never, ever offer an option "C" on an "A" or "B" question to anyone on rennlist, I must assume everyone is an expert and has explored every option ahead of time. Stop trying to be helpful it only pisses folks off.

My 82 track has Factory GTS flares grafted on to the body. According to the PO...(not original owner) it took mucho time and money to make it fit...and after I rolled the lips to fit my track tires, I found much more than a skim coat of bondo in there. Believe it or not, the GTS flares are hard to see on the old body style. So much of the width has to be taken out at the back to make it fit to the rear cover. Either way..good luck with it and post up pics.

S4Ordie...I am interested in how your sunroof delete turns out as I may do that when it comes time to "refresh" my GT....

Would those just bond to the rear quarters and be blended in?
If so, that would be pretty neat if all you want is the look.

I really do appreciate all the help from everyone, thanks.
Let me explain why I want the full metal fender. Shortly after the car was purchased by it's original owner, he had a Porsche dealership graft the roof from a sunroof car onto this non-sunroof car (I currently have every last receipt related to the vehicle in a binder documenting every last bit of work done in it's 40k miles.) The job came out ok... But I am not a fan of body filer. And the c pillar could have been welded and worked a little better, actually the guys I know can weld so amazing, all it takes is some massaging of the finished product with maybe a 32nd of inch of filer on top, (that's acceptable.)
So that is one of the main reasons I choose to use a metal panel. I hope you all understand, I'm a bit of a perfectionist...

Metal is better as far as I am concerned, to be honest, with the way you posted the OP, I thought you might be a 20 year old kid pulling our leg.
Glad I was wrong.
