Greetings,
Well, thanks to those that replied to my query earlier this month , I now have a working windshield washer pump (what the heck were Hans and Frans thinking when they mounted this sucker ). However, in my travels in replacement (pulling out and replacing the rad antifreeze reservoir - another Hans and Frans special), I stumbled across this item. I have no idea what it is and what it does. I could not find a 928 part number on it and could not see it in the parts catalog or on PET.

So the question to the all wise on here ... what is this? It is yellow, had two wires that plug into it on one end, had a ground wire out the other and a black wire leaving. It mounts in a plastic holder (clips together) and this whole assembly sites right underneath the windshield washer filler neck.

Reason for my question ... plus another question. On one of the plugs (the one with the largest space between the contacts in the yellow 'thing'), I noticed the wire insulation had cracked and the two conductors within the wire pair were touching together. Should I be concerned (back to what is this)? How does one replace the plug and the wire (comes again again to what is this)?

I was able to spread the conductors apart, put a piece of plastic between and then cover with epoxy ... but this is temporary. I need to know how concerned and hence how fast I need the 'official' repair.

that is the brake wear sensor/ABS sensor wire connector ( junction block) the wires going to the wheel can be replaced the ones on the harness side are going to be a bit more difficult.
As a note the plug in connectors all seem to crack . The epoxy coating the you applied may be a great way to fix these connections, just coat them dont try to remove them unless you have new parts as the plastic will crumble

you can use the self vulcanizing tape to rewrap the harness, just dont let any chemicals get on it ( like engine cleaner or brake cleaner)

 

You'll find the junction box or "push-on connector" as they call it in PET under part number 92861253101 for the 86'. The main harness that leads into them is 92861212103... you'll see that it goes to the front sensors, fuse panel, abs module, abs pump, and rear sensors.
