Default O2 sensor floorpan hole diameter? (need to drill one)

Can anyone tell me the diameter of the hole on the passenger side of the tunnel that the O2 sensor cable passes through?

I need to drill one on my '89, as non-cat cars don't have the hole.

I could just butcher it to make one big enough for my needs (WBO2), but I'd rather be the PO who leaves no ugly surprises, and have a hole the right size for the stock grommet

Metric measurement would be good, but I can convert

I have a photo of the location from underneath - I just need the correct size for the hole.

Cheers,

Hilton.

Awesome, thanks Rob.

Easy way to do it would be to measure the grommet if you've got one spare, rather than fumbling around under the car or in the footwell.

Hilton- I got 20.09 and 20.06 mm on the hole itself, I guess 20 would probably be close enough. FWIW, I tried to measure the grommet on the O2 sensor itself but the rubber flanges are wide and molded close together, and the blades on my mic are too thick to get an accurate measurement. I can also tell you that it's a royal PITA to get that thing seated properly.

Great, thanks for that. I'll take the hole-saw to the underside of the 928 once I'm done with kids and dinner.

I knew I should have left the O2 sensor out of the GT with you.

I think I'd drill it from inside to outside, the hole is awfully close to the large wiring loom that runs along the CE, though it may be different on RHD cars.

Would you like a pic of the inside hole location that I can flip Left-Right for you?

EDIT:

Here it is, LHD:

And for RHD:

And for those RHD cars Down Under:
