Thumbs up 1989 928S4 F/S and 928S4 X pipe w/cats needed

Finally getting back to working on our 1989 928s4 and need a X pipe w/cats. Will consider trades of Super Clamp or Super Bearings for it.

By the way, after the 1989 928S4 is put back on the ground it will be for sale.

Car details as follows:

* 1989 928S4, automatic, Velvet Red Metallic, Parchment (?) leather seats and maroon vinyl interior.

* Approximately 125,000 miles. Forgot exact mileage at this time but odo does work.

* Currently getting a rebuilt trans with new Edge torque converter, rebuilt TT w/Super bearings and new Super Drive Shaft, new Porsche motor mounts, silicone oil pan gasket and new bolts, new coolant reservoir, X pipe w/cats, S4 spoiler.

* Already has newly replaced OEM BEHR radiator, timing belt and Porsche rebuilt water pump about 7K miles ago, Super Clamp, newer OE A/C front condenser, Koni adjustable shocks at all four corners, both door handles innards replaced after they suffered the classic failure, newer in tank fuel pump, and more bits and pieces through the years. Always maintained with Porsche or OEM parts, except for our Super bearings, Super Drive Shaft and Super Clamp.

* Engine thrust bearing measurements are within specs.

* Has 17" Cup I wheels on it, rubber okay but front end rubber worn on the outside edges.

* Needs new paint job and some interior work, e.g. pod is cracked, steering wheel leather needs replacing, driver's side bolster replaced with vinyl- good match but not perfect, passenger's seat okay but showing age as is carpet.

This would be a great project car for someone. It has never been hit or tracked. Straight damage free body and everything works to include AC.

After it's put back together I will look for $11,500 OBO. Thought to offer it up now so I will have a fire under my butt to get it done.

If buyer wants something special done or not done (e.g. X-pipe w/cats or S4 spoiler not put on) before it's back on the ground, it can be discussed and worked into the price. Car is currently in my garage and in pieces going through the TT/Trans change out. If someone wants it as is and will tow it away, that can also be worked into the price.

No current photos, but can take some if wanted.

I have a very nice folding wing Constantine. Hinges are excellent and the rubber is nice.

I have a wing, no cracks or defects but has graying/oxidation? I have purchased the SEM sandless primer and paint but haven't sprayed it yet. If interested let me know, I'll make you a good deal.

Wing gotten, now need X-pipe w/cats. Anyone have one laying around they would like to move?

1989 928S4 still F/S. Economy must be really bad, not even a half hearted offer...!

Default $120 x-pipe idea

Just an idea: If building a street exhaust, how about using this muffler and x-pipe combination?

These flow enough to not create a measurable restriction if you make 600 hp or less.

Better yet, it's about 120 bucks here:

Add high-flow three-way cats right after that, and you'll have a high-flow scavenging exhaust that makes more power, less noise, and less pollution than the stock exhaust.

At least in theory.

Hi Tuomo,

Thank you for the idea!

Was hoping to get one already done since by the time all the pieces are bought and welded up, the cost will be up there.

Cheers,
