Help Identifying Coolant Hose

Default Help Identifying Coolant Hose

I'm needing help locating a part number (and description) for a particular hose that is vague on the PET CD. It is identified as #52 on the parts diagram, but says only "see group 8/13/10" under the description with no part number.

To help describe, in my picture there is a medium-sized hose leading from the coolant crossover (identified with red arrows). It connects to another, more rigid, hose just under the battery jumping posts and follows the engine compartment wall back. This rigid hose has considerable corrosion at the site where the flexible coolant hose (in my pic) attaches. This connection site is rusted metal, although it is sheathed in rubber for all, but the connection site. I'm assuming the inner metal (if in fact it is metal throughout the length of the tube) is badly corroded and likely to require replacement.

Can someone identify the part number and description of the hose along the engine compartment wall, that the hose in my picture attaches to? It would help also to know what purpose it serves and any info I should know when replacing it. I'm in the middle of re-tensioning my timing belt and some hoses had to come off anyway.

my guess was 928 106 321 03 at a much more reasonable cost of $37 from 928Intl.

This is the coolant hose that goes from the theromostat housing to the metal y pipe to the coolant reservoir?

Nicholbry, I see 928 106 321 03.
While your at it, I suggest that you route the small hose thats connected to the top of the water bridge over all of the other hoses, this will reduce the chance of fluid blocking the line, since this line is a self bleeding system it should be on a gradual rise to the bottle

DanPerez - I am looking for the hose that the one pictured in my first post to this thread connects to (the rigid pipe) on the side wall of the engine compartment (not pictured). I think your part number is for the flexible (pictured) hose coming directly off the crossover, right? Thanks for your help, nonetheless.

BerNard94 - I think that is the one. OUCH! ($$) That is the rigid pipe that the rubber hose connects to, correct?

Mrmerlin - is this the hose that you are suggesting be re-routed up/over the other hoses and in this fashion as indicated by the picture below? Thanks for the suggestion...I think I read something about this in another thread now that you mention it.

okay, now you've completely confused me. The part number I gave is for the hose that goes from the water bridge to the metal pipe bolted to the body (that further connects to the the reservoir and heater hose.

It also has a bunch of red arrows pointing to it in the first picture.

edit: Oh, I see, you are not looking for a part number for the hose you drew 4 big arrows to. You're looking for something else.

The "4 big arrows" was to illustrate the originating hose off the water bridge as I couldn't get a decent picture of the actual pipe I needed help identifying.

Thanks for trying to help me nonetheless. I believe I've got the info I need now.

I called a fellow 928 owner who stated his hose was in the same condition; so it's apparently common. Upon further inspection there didn't seem to be any internal corrosion of the pipe...only superficial, external corrosion where the flexible hose makes a connection. Good thing too as the cost is in the $200 territory for a replacement. I wire-brushed the corrosion off and applied a rust converter to help slow the corrosion.

I was suggesting to rout the small bleeder hose over all of the other hoses.
you have the correct one indicated
