Default Steering wheel help (with dilemma)

So, I am wanting to change steering wheels from 928 and 944. The 944 has the 930S or similar wheel and the 928 has a MOMO protopipo wheel. Its obvious that the hubs are not the same, so I cannot simply swap the wheels themselves, although it looks like the 1 of the hubs would work on the other car, which would save me with buying only 1 hub.
The question is is the steering shaft the same in the 944 and 928? I am suspecting due to the 24mm 944 and 27mm 928 wheel they may not be. I though before ripping anything out and seeing for myself if anyone knew.
Also any tips for the 930s hub for the 928?

This wheel fits fine, and is available as a direct bolt on (you'll need the usual huge deep socket wrench and some lithium grease)

typically referred to as a "930 wheel" or the 928 sport wheel it's available for a bit less than $500 at 928 specialists: 000.043.163.00.8YR

Shawn,
I already have the wheel. I have a question on steering shafts between the 944 and 928

As I said - if you have that exact wheel which I'm referring to, it bolts directly on.

The 928 specfic 930S wheel will have # 1619XA on the hub, usually around the outside where it meets the steering wheel shaft.

From memory, only later 928's with airbag have the same size shaft as a 944.

Well, from removal and installation my answer turns out to be: Sort of.
A few washers and some trimming and it seems to be working okay on both cars. Definantly not a straight swap, and no horn on 928 but that saves me some cash on hubs.

thanks guys.
