Default Hot Rod Power Tour 2009

Hot Rod Power Tour kicked off this past weekend. I seem to be the only Porsche attending that I've seen. Stop by if you want to see some cool old muscle cars. There are usually 2-3k cars out per day.

6/6 Racine, WI
6/7 Madinson, WI
6/7 South Bend, IN
6/8 Mt. Clemens, MI
6/9 Dayton, OH
6/10 Somerset, KY
6/11 Bristol, TN
6/12 Bristol, TN

Me cleaning off the brake dust before the show today.

And your brake pads are wearing thin....

That's the move that drops the most jaws of the non-believers.

Sorry I didn't reply back earlier. Internet connection on the road was shaky at best. I made it back with only a broken windshield from a stone. 2700 miles in 8 days.

All my pictures are here.

Power Tour 09

437ci LSx twin turbo, 1000+hp.

Really nice first gen with lots of carbon fiber bits. LS7 with some spray.

69 burnout in Hooters parking lot

Bill again wins the award for taking his car the most apart on tour.

Following that breakdown he forgot to get gas...and then ran out.

Coolest pit bike.

Crushing cans.

Rescued from a junk yard in Florida after sitting for 20+ years.

530hp naturally aspirated ford small block.

Awesome pics. I never realized that it was 2700 miles long. That sounds pretty cool. Do you have any road stories?

Actually I think it left Madison WI and headed to Racine WI passing through my little town of East Troy. I saw some of the cars pass through in small groups. I would never have thought to enter my 928 in an apparent American Iron Hot Rod drive.

Unless the local Porsche club crashed the 'party' I think the only Porsche that could be expected to show would be one of those 'Porschev' conversions... (with a Chevy engine).

Nice pics though...!
