anyone know who owns this beauty? maybe someone here?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987-...1%7C240%3A1318

guy has a PCA sticker on the window, car has been consigned to the ebay dealer, owner is from colorado maybe.
a few small issues, but overall beautiful 928.
I'd like the owner to come up with a service history, the dealer didn't seem too psyched about it. so maybe the owner is a rennlist local?

I love the interior! That car should go for closer to 15k.

Did the consignment house/dealer give you a clue about what the reserve is?

It's a nice-looking car. Not sure yet about the seats--they can't be original, right?

I ran VIN in Autocheck, nothing conclusive to dispute low mileage. Last recorded mileage was 37,486 in 1997 in Vail, Colorado. Yearly registration notations through 2004, but no further mileage notations. So there's a 5-year, 14K-mile hole in the history that would be nice to get fleshed out.

But it definitely is a looker---and a 5-speed to boot.

yeh, I do love the miami vice interior!
consignment guys says supposed to be original, special order exterior/interior colors, but no documents to show. leather shows the age, especially drivers seat so probably original.
he didn't even know how many owners. he did say the car was from colorado but stored in the SLC area for the last 5 years.
interior smelled like it had been parked for quite some time and needs airing out. no sign of mice chewing on vacuum hoses or wiring.
guy didn't indicate what the ebay reserve was but they were asking 18.5k at the lot.
thanks for running the VIN, I haven't got that far yet. could be someone bought and parked it or maybe the owner just got tired of it.
I'll have my mechanic look at it next week.

What's up with that tailpipe? If that's non-stock, what else is?

I'm not sure about that interior coming from the factory, looks like it was done afterwords to me. Engine compartment looks clean but never touched, probably need TB/WP and possibly vacuum hoses.
