I am curious, has anyone defined "some restrictions". Since some of you are calling it a "yes" as opposed to the 68 percent who voted "yes" without conditions, would someone fill me in on what those restrictions would be? Perhaps the OP could elaborate?

Bob - I have no vested understanding or interest in this as Danglerb was before my time, however, I think it odd that so many are lobbying on his behalf and for what reasons? I suspect there is some redeeming value here that warrants the many "Yes" and "Yes" with provisions.

As you have the ultimate authority on this, why doesn't Danlerb send you an email describing his desire to participate again on Rennlist, discuss the reasons for his ban and what behavior modifications he will exercise as insurance against whatever it was that got him banned in the first place?

Did Danglerb commit some unretractable heinous act that prevents his reinstatement.... sort of like Shoeless Joe Jackson and Pete Rose?

All of this seems so similar to what little kids do on the playground.... "like, I'll tell him I spoke with you, and like, I'm sure he'll say ok, K? Then we'll all be freinds again."

It is kinda weird that all of this happens in a public forum. Sort of like Ceasar's thumbs up/down based upon the roar of approval/disdain for the gladiator.

Still no vote from me. I'll leave the decision up to the powers that be. One thing is for sure, if I were Danglerb I'd know I'd be skating on very thin ice for the foreseeable future. Not sure I would want to rejoin a forum that I had been banned from.

Dan, I have no skin in *this* game. danglerb was bounced by others and I was not party to the decision. I do recall he had upset a lot of the natives to the point where he got enough of Randy and John D's attention to get tossed.

My role here is only to help Gretch unban him should it go that way. I am still curious as to what "OK with restrictions" means though Gretch has taken the summer off to work his orchard and is moderating with a Blackberry. I do that too and somethings are a major pain using only a BB - like unbanning someone.

I guess since I started the poll I'll add my .02. It seems like a few people had an issue with how many threads Dangler started in such a short period of time and most seemed to be out in left field. I think those days are behind him judging by his past on Pelican. I'm for lifting his ban.

If you are going to UNbanned him - wich i'm neither for or against - there should not be any restrictions.

I didn't vote on this, but did express an opinion.

On Bob's question on rrstrictions, my feeling is that there should be no 'special' restrictions put on Danglerb. We all need to maintain proper Renn decorum no matter what. If it's decided that past transgressions are forgiven, then the same rules once again apply.

I suspect that reason for the prior ban was a problem-with-authority issue more than a how-often-he-posted-newbie-questions problem. Lots happened out of the public view. In the meanwhile he has buffed up his public style some, as evidenced by his subsequent posting history on Pelican. He contributes a lot over there. Many of the folks who are regulars here are also players over there, so there's quite a bit of familiarity. At the same time, this group is lovingly referred to as Bannlist. It could be a lot worse.

He still is not at 75%..............

I am watching............... And I still want to know what it was that finally broke the damn.......

After all, if I do this and he screws up again, I am gonna have egg on my face........just cause a buncha youse guys got all "touchy feely"......

Mark Anderson stepping up for him carries weight, I admit that. I just need to hear the whole story. I will see if RV wants to rehash it for me.

In the mean time he needs to hit 75% and hold it.......... otherwise, no deal, (in this court, anyway).

I don't know him or what exactly got him banned.

The real question is 'Does he want to return? '
I lurk here and the other forum and he seems quite content.

Mark Anderson started this thread and that gave it, for me, substantial credibility. So, I tossed in my 2 cents and supported his proposal. I've read what Danglerb has posted on the other forum and I think he is a dyed in the wool 928 freak. IMHO the vast majority of us share the same passion.

No skin off my *** but is a ban absolute? Are we that hard core that once you violate the crimson crest you're screwed for life? I ask as I usually cross the line so I'm wondering about my life expectancy here.

Please let me know soon as I believe I'm due to toss another $18 clams in to maintain my status

I would really like to see the 54 people (as of now) who voted no to speak up as to why.

I could have easily started a new screen name, however with so many aggressive towards me, I would have been turned in for the $5000 "Un-ban" fee right away.

Banned Users: If you have been banned by Rennlist and attempt to register again using some means to get around the ban, such as using another email address, you agree to a $5,000 dollar reinstatement fee. By clicking on agree below you agree to this fee. You also agree that any disputes will be resolved in New Hampshire courts.

Better to wait for the waters to settle down.

OK!

I voted "no" because there are enough newbies and people with well-intentioned crackpot ideas already. Danglerb was like a troll in that he asked questions that were not valuable to be answered and that added a lot of noise to the signal. This forum is very busy already and doesn't need people whose apparent motivation is just to create discussions that are not actually serious. And, possibly, to draw attention to himself. Just ignore him? I certainly can.

Or maybe I was just pissed off.

Is it possible to just make a trade, DanglerB for Sidehatch?
