Default 90 GT aftermarket wheel fitment

I've read numerous posts on offsets but I am not one to take the chance in purchasing a set of wheels to find out it does not fit my car. So here it goes..

I have found two different sets:

Front Wheel Size: 18x8, offset is 52mm
Rear Wheel Size: 18x10, offset is 65mm
Name: 18.JPG
Views: 167
Size: 39.4 KB

and

Front Wheel Size: 19x8, offset is 57mm
Rear Wheel Size: 19x11, offset is 67mm
Name: 19.JPG
Views: 193
Size: 27.4 KB

Will either or both of the sets fit without fender or any other modifications?

Thanks all

Both sets will fit, yes. The 11" rears will be a very close fit so you may need just the right spacer.

J I would go with the 18's if the ride matters- I have a 1991 that went from 16's to 18's and I am very happy- and if i had to do another nch- I would go down to 17 rather than up to 19"

Also remember these cars are HEAVY and they love the tires sidewall - Skinnier isn't better on these cars

Where are you in pa I am in lancaster-we should hang-

I am up in Orefield, right next to Allentown. Are you familiar with that area?

I like the GT3 wheels better than the other ones plus they are 18 in.
The 19in wheels give a less comfortable ride on long drives

The 19's have a better offset for the front and the rears will fit nice with a 21 mm spacer, but the 18's will have a better ride.

J, as you can see by my avatar, the 19's fit a '90GT just fine. The fronts are identical, but the rears on my car are 9.5" wide, but with a 46et offset. The 11" wide with the 67et offset should fit fine, especially with the factory roll on the GT rear fender.

I love the look of that 19" wheel. Mine are actually factory take-offs from a Cayman. I would get the real Porsche wheels if you can.

Rick,

The carrera classics look great on your GT. The ones I found are OEM BBS, I didn't want to go with the extra weight of the replicas. Not to mention BBS reputation in quality. Thanks for the input

Default tire/wheel combo

I am in the same situation. Just ordered hollow spoke Turbo Twist 18x8 with 50 offset and 18x10 with 65 offset. Can someone recommend tire size that will not rub for a 90 GT (soon to be supercharged).
Thank you

225/40-18 front (with ET50 it will still be pretty tight), 265/35-18 rear. With 15mm spacers in the rear, you can go wider: 275/35-18, 285/30-18 or 295/30-18 (this last one is close, depending on which tire brand/model used).

The 19" have the better offset but a little marginal on the front. I feel the problem with the 19" will be harsh ride since suitable low profile tyres will have very stiff sidewalls. The 18" are a nicer looking wheel however the front offset is below the recommended offset of min= 55mm - 57mm.

Cheers

Default Your final choice?

What wheels did you end up with and what tires and size did you mount? I just bought some Hollow Turbo Twists 18x7.5 50 offset and 18x10 65 offset and i am mulling over tire choices- I have a 90GT and I do not know if it came with OEM spacers.
Thank you
