Sounds like you may need a new expansion valve. Mine did. Now it blows 35 out the center vent (ambient was 75).

BTW, the weather forecast looks like mid-70's so I don't think you'll need the AC much.

I am bringing my two girls and they don't like when daddy drives with the windows down :-). And for some reason it was frieking rains going and leaving sitm. Last year it stormed and hailed while I was on the Blue Ridge so a/c comes in handy.

The front expansion valve was replaced last year and the rear valve is brand new. I hope they last a long time.

If you do your own A/C work, it really is a good idea to get a nitrogen tank and the right regulator. When the system is empty, hook it up and set it to 100 or so psi and see if it will hold for an hour or so. I hesitate to go more than 100 since the low side should never see more than that. N2 refills are cheap too, and venting does nothing to the atmosphere since it is mostly N2 anyway.

What type of vacuum pump did you use?

And btw, never ever ever ever use anything with the word stop-leak on an A/C system. Ever.
