Default Flowmaster mufflers

I was given a set of these, I think they might be 40's. They are 4" tall, 13" long and 9.5 inches wide. The inand out is 2.5" and they are offset on both ends. Will these fit my 86.5??

Fit? I have no idea.

Will it sound like an 80's Camaro? Yes

Don't be so sure. I tried 6 different exhaust systems on my 911SC and the final and best version was a Flowmaster from a late model Camaro. It tucked up perfectly in front of the rear bumper, was quiet when cruising but had a crazy banshee wail at WOT. The guy who bought it came in the middle of winter to look at it and after he looked it all over, I started it up and after a couple of cracks at the throttle, he handed over a check. Here's a video of the car on a dyno: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR-b4pbEw0U

You are trying to comapre an engine that sounds like a broken sewing machine to a 928 motor?

You act like the Camaro comment is a bad thing

Are they offset to the same side?

I had FlowMasters on my '87 S4 and loved the sound, but I drink beer not sip wine.

Look up James Morrison's Race car (or something like that will probably work) on YouTube and you will hear a flow master 40 on a Euro S 4.7L engine... MSDS headers and no cats (of course...it is a race car!) Sean put that up on YouTube as well as posted it here a few times.

I now have super 44 flowmasters. Dual offset 2.5". Tuck up just right. They are just a hair smaller than the afterburners I was using. As for the sound, not sure yet, haven't fired her up yet. Maybe this weekend. I had a Delta 50 flowmaster prior off the Y-pipe, before I got headers and an X. It sounded great. Flowmasters are an improvement over stock, but not the best flowing out there. But they do wonders to the sound. IMO

Afterburners - I'll see your camaro and raise you a beat up Nova

Meh. Who needs mufflers? I do not. No mufflers on my 928. Sounds glorious, and not at all like an '80s camaro.

Mine are dual offset just like that. Fit nice.
