My effort to stimulate the economy.
I finally got my Euro heads back from the machine shop and the cam carriers and intake back from the powder coaters. Hopefully I'll have the new top end on the engine in the next week or two.
And we took an 8 day vacation to Pawleys Island...

Q.C. Coatings in Utica, MI did all the powder and ceramic coating for me. I've used them before and would highly recommend them. It's about two week turn around on ceramic stuff and three weeks for powder.
Also, the heads had about 120,000 miles on them. Decking, fixing two exhaust studs, cleaning, installing stem seals, and valve lapping was ~$400. Thompson Automotive did them (and the Audi head) and turn around on that was a week. I would also recommend them highly.

I do drive my 928 quite a bit, but I've only had it out to the bar night once.
Yep, it's wrinkle red. Not quite as heavy as something like a Ferrari finish, but it looks good.
That's for my fast car.
Ironically an Audi 5 cylinder head is shorter than a 928 head. Costs less too.

Heads look great too, what did you have done to them? Stock rebuild or something "special" Thanks for sharing the pictures

The heads were just gone through. They weren't in too bad of shape. The guides are a little loose, but I can live with that. Changing them out would have doubled the rebuild cost.
The car will go on the dyno in the next week or two so I can see how MSDS headers, full exhaust, US top end do vs those same parts and Euro heads/cams (but with US intake still) post swap.
