I'm ordering a magnetic swivel pickup spark plug socket, and I'm having a brain fart.
Is the "standard" 928 plug a 5/8" socket?

13/16 thin wall, with a rubber insert to capture the plug tip

Nope..........5/8" is for smaller plugs.
928 plugs are 13/16", manly spark plugs.

well if the tool has a rubber insert it prevents having to drop the plug into the well and possibly damaging the threads of the head or tapping the electrode.
OTOH you can use a piece of tubing inserted onto the end of the spark plug to get it started.
BUT if your buying a good tool the rubber insert will usually be in the tool end

The magnet does the same thing as the rubber insert. The top of a spark plug is metal, which the magnet hangs onto.

I'd like to know as well, if there's a particular brand of this tool to look for, since I just changed my plugs with the plug wrench in our tool kit, which works but is too short. the slide handle just seems to be in the wrong spot, for about every plug, when you 're trying to get them loose or to tighten.

I use a Craftsman spark plug socket, 13/16, with the rubber insert to cushion the plug head.
For the 928 I attach a Snap-On 6" wobbly extension..........the set up works for all 8 plugs.

(I used to own a V8 Monza and you have not lived until you do plugs on one of them)
How about I ship you one to let you make your own mind up.
One of the few tools from Snap-On I am not really nuts about.
