Default ET70 wheels at the rear?

Hello everyone,

I know, another bldy offset question!
I'm looking at a set of cup wheels, with 9J rears with an ET70 offset and 265/40zr17 tyres. The fronts definitely fit
I know these wheels will rub on the inside, but how big of a spacer will I need to make the wheels sit correctly? This is because if the spacers cost a silly amount I won't bother!

All Help Appreciated!

20mm is fine. Even 15mm would be fine, as it would make the effective offset 55mm.

No spacer needed. It should not rub at all.

But it will look really ugly with wheel sitting deep inside the well.

Yes, it would look ugly but that wasn't the question. The question was would it rub? The answer is no.

Personnally, I would use a 15mm spacer in this application. I would use 20mm if the tire size were 255 instead of 265.

Yes they will rub on the inside with 265's and without spacers according to Andrew's calculator.

You will have to use bolt-on spacers or get longer wheel studs if you want to run the slip on spacers. The factory ones from MY 84 - 86 (21 mm) with longer studs would give you an effective offset of 49 and would work well and can be found cheap (your stock offset is 52.3 mm).

I currently run 10x18 ET65 with 285/30 tires. Removing 0.5" from the outside would make my wheel 9.5x18 ET71 and no rub. With 9x17 ET70 with 265 tire would have less chance of rubbing than my current setup.
