The wheels are very cool, and I like the aftermarket wing. He may have priced this car a little too high Looks like the perfect replacement car for Ryan

Well, i'm looking on the bright side, if he gets $35k for that, then I can get $200k for my GTS.

There's always the chance that there's someone out there who really wants just that car for just that price. I can only remind folks here that you will seldom get more for your car than you ask. Ergo, if you want more you need to ask for more. Don't beat up on the seller. In fact, dod what you can to get the value he asks. Start a trend.

I sent him a question if each of the "FOUR" stickers (or however he referred to them) were worth $5,000 each because he could just take those off for me and his car MIGHT be worth $15k if he got really lucky! What a freaking idiot!

His car MIGHT be worth $15k, but if he got really lucky some idiot would make him a 'lowball' offer of $20k. What a freaking genius!

Okay so Sharky is worth $13,600 according to Fleabay...but this guy thinks he will get $35k.... YA RIGHT...time to step away from the crackpipe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However if he got $35k....that means sharky is worth MORE.....for some odd reason I don't see that happening....

Just look what all the Porsche dealership did!!!!

COMPLETELY SERVICED, INCLUDING ALL BELTS CHANGED, PLUGS BY PORSCHE DEALER. THIS CAR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY UPGRADED INSIDE AND OUT.

ENGINE UPGRADES INCLUDE ALL NEW FUSES, ALL NEW BELTS (ALL 5) REWORKED AND UPGRADED VERY COLD AC SYSTEM BY PORSCHE DEALERSHIP, SPORT RADIATOR AND MORE.

I think this guy got the SPORT RADIATOR package also at the PORSCHE DEALERSHIP, because they are the only ones that can do work like this on a 928.

Nobody knows you 928 like the PORSCHE DEALERSHIP
Greg

The clues are in red!
They did not get the rotors tight.

Maybe I am being hard on the dealership, but they do not see older cars, I promise I see more 928 in a year than the Porsche dealerships in Atlanta does, and when you have 10 mechanics looking for work orders, well you roll the dice and take your chances.

I guess I am just upset that anybody thinks that having the dealership do the work makes it special.
I can screw one up just as fast as they can.

Bottom line, buy the tools you need, buy the information you need, ask for help here and double check everything.
A **** retentive owner like me or many others here will do a better job than the dealerships will.

........................................................................ .......................

Here is a short list of things I have done to my 87, I have been doing mechanical work for 35 years, I have a A&P license and a few other ratings that mean nothing, just like having a dealership means nothing.

I just copied it, so excuse my wording, it was just for me.
But the bottom line, when I am done with it, it will be about ten times the car that one is and if offered for sale MIGHT bring 15,000!
I have a bit more than that in it.

okay so this was a tightening issue. looks like the key broke.

is there any thing that needs to be changed in that area when taking the cam gear off ? like the key or that steel tripod looking part.
Im planning to get new bolts when Im ready to put mine back.

Thanks for the reply

I would check every thing there with a magnifying glass (thanks for the tip Greg Brown)

They did not get the rotor tight and this car ended up junk.

I am just venting today, pay me no mind, it just pisses me off when people like the guy selling this car puts so much faith in a dealership doing the work.

Now there are some guys that post here that if they said "Look, this car is perfect" it might be worth that much.
But my guess is that the couple of three folks I am thinking of can find faults in even the most cared for cars.
And that in a nut shell is why a PPI from some one who "KNOWS" is so very important when buying a 928.

Ahhh come on guys!Don't be so harsh. We all know that the true value of any car is what someone is willing to pay for it,and like the old saying goes,"there's an *** for every seat".
