205's Up Front?
There's a set of rims that I'd like to buy and they have 205's on the front right now. The offsets are perfect, but the fronts are a little narrow.
See any problems running them for the rest of the season and then getting new ones later on? I'd had to just throw them out.

Yup, you can drive on them. I recommend not turning to many corners, at least not with any speed. A 928 with 225 fronts is already WAY under tired (unless your goal is to go REALLY, REALLY fast on the A-bahn in Germany...which of course is what the car was built to to...but if you want to it to actually handle well, you need 245's or bigger!) That said, I know more than a few folks who have put Boxster wheels/tires on 928's.
YMMV

I've put on 205's before as "improv snow tires". Echo the rest of the sentiments in this thread - steering will be light and limits will be lower. But it will work in a pinch

I did that for a while. The Mich Pilot 205's had a lot more grip than the 225 TA's that were originally fitted to the car, so for my situation it was a net improvement. Good News for me was the next improvement when I replaced the 205's with 225's a few years later. While 205's are not really what you want, if they stick better than what you have now you shouldn't throw them away. You may be able to sell them well though, and get the size you really want.

It all depends on how you drive.....anything more than slightly spirited and 205's will be HORRIBLE....ton's O understeer.... But if you just cruise around at legal speeds...it would be fine
