Lower ball joint nuts
I really want to reassemble my front suspension over the weekend, and want to use new fastening hardware on the lower balljoints, where the eccentrics are.
Is it OK to use m12 nyloc here?
I know I should just get the proper Porsche ones, but the nearest dealer is nearly an hour away, and won't have them on the shelf.
Cheers.

The reason Porsche didn't use Nylocs is because these Nuts get loosened and retightened everytime you have the alignment adjusted. Hence they used either the Nuts with the deformed top or with the spring in the top.
As you will need to have the alignment done after you reassemble the suspension, use the old nuts for now and get the alignement shop to swap the Nuts when they do the alignment.
The general manufacturers reccomendation is to use Nylocs once only. Many folk use them more than that.
Even with a re-used Nyloc on the camber and caster eccentrics should they come loose it won't be fatal - you'll notice the change in alignment by ow the car drives almost instantly as the eccentrics will slip before the Nut bcomes loose enough to allow any slack in the fitting.
You may be able to find (Not from Porsche) the deformed Nut style of locking Nut before you get the alignment done anyway.

From a recent thread by Angel84, these nuts are unavailable from porsche. I'll see if I can dig up the thread but I may not be able to due to the problems with the search these days.

I think the nuts Ben is talking about are the nuts for the eccentric alignment adjustment. These are available new (N 022 141 4 or 900 910 115 02) M12 x 1.5. They are just regular lock nuts. The nuts that are NLA are the upper cap nut for the lower ball joint (999 084 059 02). I don't recommend reusing them. I recommend the 2 nut per stud approach.
