My 1994 928GTS show the " airbag malfunction " message on the display. When use the diagnostics computor to check and attempt to clear the message, the computor " do not see " the airbag computor. I was advised to replace the airbag computor, but when talked to few expert in 928, I was told that it is very rare that the airbag computor will malfunction.

This car have not had any major accident nor the steering wheel airbag was ever activated.

I suspect some wiring / moisture problem but do not know where to begin to look. But, if I have to replace the airbag computor, then I will but that should be the last option.

I will be most appreciated to hear any comment. Any one ever had the same happening ? not necessarily on the 928 GTS, but on other Porsche with airbag as well.
