Supercharge or Turbo
Hello fellow shark tamers. I have 1984 928S and I want more power. How can I get more????????????????? Turbo or Supercharge? I know about the 928 Motorsports kit. Are there any more kits available? What kind of RWHP numbers can I expect? What about turbo kits? Any for the 16V?
I just want to hang with the 32V guys. Thanks for help. Newbie.

SC for consistent power, and in most cases reliability.
Turbo for mass power on boost, usually requiring a fair amount of tuning and maintenance, depending on the kit.

If you want to hang with the 32v cars - you could also just get a 32 valve car... in the end it may not be much different $'s to trade up..

Hi
And don't forget to ask how much per hp....
Nitrous is roughly 100 hp for UNDER $1000.....
Thats $10 per hp or less....
Supercharging costs a LOT more...
Forget Turbo`s on a 928, some very clever guys have done it but as far as I know you cannot buy a kit.
All the best Brett

Euro S cams, heads, intake and TB. Then add headers and free flow exhuast. Finally add a 5.0L bottom end. You'll be beating the 32v guys in no time. And for less than a SC set up.
Then add a little nitrous if it's still not enough.

On an 84 one of Carls Supercharger kits is your easiest option......another good option is a 5.0L euro conversion......euro intake and cams with 100mm pistons makes a 5.0L....those have proven to be nearly 300whp with a good exhaust.....

Oh here we go again!
I built my own twin turbo set up, "herr Kuhn" will sell you one. There is a centrifugal superchargerkit available and there used to be a rear mount turbo kit also, I don't know if the twin screw superchargers are a kit, but obviously it can be done.
IMHO if you want HP, then dollar for dollar you must boost.
I'm guessing that centrifugal supercharging is cheapest, twin turbo most expensive.
Reasearch the characteristics of the options and go with what suits you.
Cheers Roy
