Default Question about Trans hose R&R

Where the hoses attach to the transmission, are the banjo ends supposed to rotate, relative to the stationary hose & crimp. ( I thought one of you wrote that they shouldn't rotate, but I can't find that reference anywhere )

Am trying to figure-out if I can make them up myself from transmission fluid line and clamps, using the existing ends.

I've got a set lined-up to purchase, but would rather use that money on another part.

Advice appreciated!!

Before you purchase new lines, check around your area and see if someone can re-build them. I called a local shop that does industrial hydraulic hoses. They did not do automotive type hoses but did have a lead on someone who might. After 5 phone calls I located a local shop specializing in these type repairs. I got all the trans lines, the two major PS lines, and both oil cooler lines repaired with modern hose that is a heavier construction using the original metal bits along with new ferules for $420US. The shop even pressure tested all the lines with nitrogen. Definitely cheaper than new from Porsche.
