brake cleaner effect on ??
Folks....I'm doing the dish wheel strip/refinish/polish bit.
1) Is brake cleaner detrimental to the aluminum wheel? (This is prior to stripping and refinishing the wheels)
2) Is brake cleaner harmful to the caliper boots?
Intuition says no...but enquire. Thanks
AND on this note: any threads on refinishing dish wheels?

I can only speak for the Wurth and New south brands, they will not hurt anything metal, and I have never seen them hurt any automotive plastics or paint.
Use my advise at your own risk.

read the can IIRC brake cleaner instructions are dont let it get on any rubber bits as it will swell them. For the wheels it should be OK..... but if the wheels have any paint type coating it may eat into that finish.
